    As we close down 2018, I am taking the much needed time to reflect on all of the new challenges, new opportunities and creative growth LPDstudios has embarked on this year. I've met so many great people through the local art community here in Pennsylvania, and can't thank you all enough for the unwavering support LPDstudios has felt this year.

    So many great adventures, experiences and memories come to mind when I think of this past year. Participating in the monthly Summer Farmers Market on Chocolate in Hershey, PA, exploring my teacher side by leading workshops for the Craft on Tap Series at the PA Guild of Craftsmen, and donating and participating in the Horizon of Hope Breast Cancer Fundraiser, just to name a few :) I loved being a part of each and every one of these events because of the tremendous amount of talent and creative energy from all of the artists, and the awesome support from loyal customers!

    I can't wait to embark on a whole new year with all of you and explore new ideas in the studio, participate in more local events and craft new LPDstudios originals. Stay tuned as the adventure continues....

    LPDstudios Blog - Fall Pop Up - the 37th Annual Hummelstown Arts Festival 2018

    LPDstudios first Pop Up of the Fall season will be at the 37th Annual Hummelstown Arts Festival on September 15, 2018 in Hummelstown PA from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come out and join us with over 150 juried vendors and a special appearance from Trudy Nicholson this years poster artist, which I just absolutely love.

    Trudy has quite an extensive collection of published work and I highly recommend visiting her site.  She has never stopped her journey of exploring various mediums which shows in her work, from her black and white tight illustrations of animals and nature to her energetic, very loose "Quick 5 minute sketches".  I am so happy that she did this years commission and can't wait to meet her.  She will be selling and signing her poster at the Arts Festival.  Come out and see all the amazing artists, creators and makers.

    LPDstudios Blog: Whats New-Mothers Day Gifts

    Look whats new for Mothers Day,  I would like to introduce The Forever Fused Two Hearts Pendant Necklace and Gently Curved Gold Bronze Heart Earrings.  When I started creating these new designs in the studio I had love in mind.  The necklace is two curved hearts fused together without any solder.  I can do this because I started off using bronze metal clay.  The two hearts where joined during the clay stage of the necklace.  During the kiln firing process, the clay is turned into solid gold bronze and is joined together,  just like our love for our children.  The pendant hangs from a beautiful 14/20 gold filled chain with a wheat pattern.  Our collection would not be complete without our Gently Curved Gold Bronze Heart Earrings.  What an amazing way to express your love this Mothers Day.

    I'm very excited to introduce a new tote to the LPDstudios handbag collection, the Metallic Lilac Purple Leather Purse with Pegasus Wings!!

    The leather I chose for this fantastical purse is lilac purple with an incredible metallic finish. When I found this hide I knew immediately I needed to create something out of the ordinary to fit the personality of this unique leather.

    What better fit than the wings of the striking mythical creature Pegasus?! I love the way the wings spread across the entire width of the tote for an impactful statement. This purse is perfect for anyone looking for more fantasy, whimsy, and magic in their lives.

    LPDstudios Blog: What's New - Gold Bronze Flower Earrings and Birthstone Pendant Necklace

    After a nice holiday break, I am back in the studio and loving every minute of it. It's nice to take a creative pause, to let my mind and body rest and allow ideas and inspiration to come naturally. Then, when I step back into the studio, I am excited and energized to dive right into new projects.

    During break, I brainstormed new ways to bring personalized jewelry options to my customers, and I really like what I have created so far! Drum roll please.....I'd like to introduce the Gold Bronze Flower Earrings and Birthstone Pendant Necklace. 

    These petite flower motifs are made using Gold Bronze metal clay. I cut and shape the flowers, use a mold to create the dome center and fire them in my kiln. Once they come out of the kiln, I use hand tools to buff the metal, which gives it that low luster finish!

    To make the pendant necklace, I take two domed flowers, place a cultured gemstone between the two pieces and use more metal clay to adjoin the two sides together. Once the pendant is formed, I put it back in the kiln to solidify the metal, making it a completely enclosed pendant.
